Supported services
A Plan acts on resources of your cloud accounts. Each resource type supports one kind of operation:
- Start / Stop: the resource is powered on during the plan window and off outside it.
- Scale (horizontal): the resource keeps running but its capacity (min / max instances) is raised during the window and reduced outside it.
- Resize (vertical): the resource keeps running but switches to a bigger size during the window and a smaller, cheaper one outside it. It is never left powered off.
This list is generated from the services the console offers today. Entries marked coming soon are visible in the console but cannot be selected yet.
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
| Service | Operation | How it behaves |
|---|---|---|
| AWS EC2 | Start / Stop | Acts on an AWS EC2 instance. START powers it on and STOP powers it off. |
| AWS EC2 | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the EC2 instance running but changes its instance type: a bigger type during ON hours, a smaller/cheaper one during OFF hours. AWS requires a brief stop + start to apply the resize, so there is a short restart, but the instance is never left powered off. |
| AWS EKS | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on EKS worker capacity through Auto Scaling. START scales to normal capacity and STOP scales down to reduced capacity. |
| AWS ECS | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on ECS service/cluster capacity through Auto Scaling-backed capacity. START scales up and STOP scales down. |
| AWS Auto Scaling | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on an AWS Auto Scaling Group. START applies start min/max and STOP applies stop min/max. |
| AWS RDS | Start / Stop | Acts on an AWS RDS instance. START starts the DB instance and STOP stops it. |
| AWS RDS / Aurora | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the RDS/Aurora DB instance running but changes its instance class: a bigger class during ON hours, a smaller/cheaper one during OFF hours. Applied immediately (ApplyImmediately=true), which triggers a brief reboot, but the instance is never left stopped. |
| AWS DocumentDB | Start / Stop | Acts on an AWS DocumentDB cluster/instance lifecycle. START resumes service and STOP pauses/stops where supported. |
| AWS Elastic Beanstalk | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on Elastic Beanstalk environment capacity. START scales to normal capacity and STOP scales to reduced capacity. |
| AWS Fargate | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on Fargate task/service capacity. START scales desired tasks up and STOP scales them down. |
| AWS Amazon MQ | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the Amazon MQ broker running but changes its host instance type: a bigger type during ON hours, a smaller/cheaper one during OFF hours. Applying it reboots the broker (brief connection interruption), but the broker is never left stopped. |
| AWS SageMaker Endpoint | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on a SageMaker real-time endpoint's capacity. START restores the configured instance count per variant and STOP reduces it to 0 (no delete/recreate, same endpoint). |
| AWS ElastiCache | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the ElastiCache replication group running but changes its node type: a bigger type during ON hours, a smaller/cheaper one during OFF hours. Applied immediately (ApplyImmediately=true), which triggers a brief reboot, but it is never left stopped. |
| AWS Redshift Provisioned | Start / Stop | Acts on a provisioned Redshift cluster. START resumes it (resume_cluster) and STOP pauses it (pause_cluster) — billing stops for compute while paused, storage is still billed. |
| AWS DynamoDB Provisioned | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the DynamoDB table running (provisioned billing mode) but changes its ReadCapacityUnits/WriteCapacityUnits: higher during ON hours, lower during OFF hours. Never deletes or recreates the table. |
Microsoft Azure
| Service | Operation | How it behaves |
|---|---|---|
| Azure VM | Start / Stop | Acts on an Azure Virtual Machine. START powers it on and STOP deallocates/powers it off. |
| Azure VM | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the Azure VM running but changes its VM size: a bigger size during ON hours, a smaller/cheaper one during OFF hours. Azure requires the VM to be deallocated to change size, so there is a short restart, but the VM is never left powered off. |
| Azure Service Plan | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on an Azure App Service Plan. START sets normal worker capacity and STOP sets reduced worker capacity. |
| Azure Redis Cache (coming soon) | Start / Stop | Acts on Azure Redis Cache lifecycle where supported. START resumes and STOP pauses/stops where available. |
| Azure AKS | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on an Azure AKS agent pool. START scales node count to normal and STOP scales node count to reduced. |
| Azure VM Scale Set | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on an Azure VM Scale Set. START sets normal instance capacity and STOP sets reduced instance capacity. |
| Azure Container Instance | Start / Stop | Acts on an Azure Container Instance lifecycle. START runs the container group and STOP stops it. |
| Azure Application Gateway | Start / Stop | Acts on Azure Application Gateway lifecycle/capacity based on configured commands. |
| Azure Synapse SQL Pool | Start / Stop | Acts on Azure Synapse SQL pool lifecycle. START resumes compute and STOP pauses compute. |
| Azure Databricks Cluster | Start / Stop | Acts on Azure Databricks cluster lifecycle. START starts the cluster and STOP terminates it. |
| Azure Service Bus Premium | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the Service Bus Premium namespace running but changes its messaging unit capacity: more units during ON hours, the minimum (1) during OFF hours. Never deletes or stops the namespace. |
| Azure Cosmos DB Provisioned | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the Cosmos DB SQL database running but changes its manually provisioned throughput (RU/s): higher during ON hours, lower during OFF hours. Never deletes or stops the database. |
| Azure MySQL Flexible Server | Start / Stop | Acts on an Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server. START resumes it and STOP stops it. NOTE: Azure force-restarts a stopped Flexible Server after 7 days regardless of this schedule. |
| Azure MySQL Flexible Server | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the MySQL Flexible Server running but changes its SKU (tier + compute size): bigger during ON hours, smaller/cheaper during OFF hours. Never stopped, only resized. |
| Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server | Start / Stop | Acts on an Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server. START resumes it and STOP stops it. NOTE: Azure force-restarts a stopped Flexible Server after 7 days regardless of this schedule. |
| Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the PostgreSQL Flexible Server running but changes its SKU (tier + compute size): bigger during ON hours, smaller/cheaper during OFF hours. Never stopped, only resized. |
| Azure ML Online Endpoint | Scale (horizontal) | Acts on an Azure ML Online Endpoint deployment's instance count. START restores the configured instance count and STOP scales it to 0 (no delete/recreate of the deployment). |

| GCP Compute Engine VM | Resize (vertical) | Keeps the GCP Compute Engine VM running but changes its machine type: a bigger type during ON hours, a smaller/cheaper one during OFF hours.
