Savings
Estimated savings vs. running every resource 24x7, by cloud provider and service
- Calculated by the hour, from the actual stop/start/resize history of your plans — not by the second, and not from your real cloud bill.
- Assumes the resource's instance type/engine hasn't changed outside CloudPlans since it was last processed by a scheduled run (it's cached at that point, not re-checked live for this calculation).
- Uses public on-demand list prices (updated periodically), not any Reserved Instance, Savings Plan, or custom discount you may have with your cloud provider.
- Only covers resource types with pricing data available today (see "No savings data yet" below if a type/cloud is missing) — coverage will keep expanding over time.
- A new resource shows no data until it has been processed by at least one scheduled run.
Which resource types are covered today?
Azure: VM, VM (Vertical Resize), Service Bus Premium (Vertical Resize), Cosmos DB (Vertical Resize).
Google Cloud: Compute Engine VM, Compute Engine VM (Vertical Resize).
Not covered yet: all other "Scalable" types (EKS/ECS/Beanstalk/SageMaker/Service Plan/AKS/VM Scale Set/ML Endpoint/GKE/Vertex AI), Azure Container Instance/App Gateway/Synapse/Databricks/MySQL/PostgreSQL Flexible Server, GCP Cloud SQL/Memorystore/Dataproc, and DynamoDB (Vertical Resize). These simply show no data — nothing breaks, nothing is estimated incorrectly for them.
